Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of tower and overhead cranes to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiencies.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions in crane systems and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Install and upgrade electrical components and systems in cranes, ensuring all work adheres to technical specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement modifications that enhance crane performance and safety features.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Calibrate and test electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability under load conditions.
- Provide technical support and training to operators on the proper use and maintenance of crane electrical systems.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols during electrical maintenance and repair tasks to safeguard personnel.
- Assist in the development of maintenance plans and schedules to prolong the lifespan of crane equipment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in crane technology to recommend improvements.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Associate degree or equivalent certification in electrical engineering or technology, specializing in industrial equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance specific to tower or overhead cranes.
- Valid electrical technician certification or license, demonstrating proficiency in electrical systems and safety standards.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations in the construction and industrial sectors, adhering to OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for electrical system analysis and fault detection.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical personnel.
- Physical ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, with a commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting related to crane operations is highly desirable.
