Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large, complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are in the process of setting up an Saudi Arabia office and are actively searching for a Senior Marine Structural Engineer / Manager to serve as a technical lead on waterfront structures projects. As the successful new hire, you will be actively engaged on large port development projects for key clients in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. This position will also work with teams across the company on a variety of structural projects related to marine and transportation infrastructure engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish Design Standards:
- Develop and maintain standards for the design of marine structures and foundations using materials like cast-in-place and prestressed concrete, steel, and timber, in accordance with Saudi regulations and standards.
- Project Leadership:
- Lead technical aspects of projects with construction ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior staff, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and Saudi engineering standards.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural design within overall project objectives, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Structural Analysis and Design:
- Conduct structural analysis and design, perform QA/QC reviews, and prepare project deliverables including plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, reports, and memorandums, tailored to Saudi project requirements.
- Business Development:
- Contribute to proposals and business development activities, fostering relationships with clients in Saudi Arabia to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
- Committee Involvement:
- Participate in technical committees, representing the company and contributing expertise to industry discussions and advancements in Saudi Arabia.
- Training and Development:
- Mentor junior staff, supporting their professional growth and development within the company, with a focus on local talent development.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality reviews of deliverables, serving as a Senior Technical Reviewer to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Saudi project requirements.
- Client Interaction:
- Engage with clients, providing technical expertise, addressing concerns, and building strong relationships to enhance client satisfaction and project success in Saudi Arabia.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Licenses:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required with the ability to gain a license in Saudi Arabia within 6 months of hire.
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) strongly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, focusing on marine/waterfront projects.
- Certification from the Saudi Council of Engineers Required
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD. Pro, or similar.
- Compliance:
- All new hires must pass a pre-employment background check in compliance with Saudi regulations.
- Employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in Saudi Arabia and present the required documentation at hire.
