Job Overview:
The BIM and Revit Engineer will be responsible for developing and managing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process for various construction projects. The role requires proficiency in Revit software to create, modify, and manage 3D models that support the design, construction, and operational phases of the project. The engineer will collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure that the BIM models are accurate, efficient, and meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
BIM Model Development:
- Develop, manage, and update BIM models using Revit for all phases of the project, from conceptual design through construction and as-built documentation.
- Ensure models are compliant with BIM standards and project-specific requirements.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate design elements into the BIM model.
- Coordinate with various disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to resolve conflicts and ensure model accuracy.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide input on clash detection and resolution.
Documentation and Deliverables:
- Prepare and deliver detailed 2D and 3D drawings and documentation extracted from the BIM model.
- Generate schedules, quantities, and other data from the BIM model to support cost estimation and project planning.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
- Implement and maintain BIM standards and protocols, ensuring consistency across all models and projects.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on BIM and Revit best practices.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to BIM and Revit.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in BIM and Revit technologies and recommend process improvements.
- Implement new tools and workflows to enhance the efficiency and quality of BIM modeling.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in BIM management and Revit modeling, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Proven experience in working on large-scale construction projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM tools.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Familiarity with construction processes, architectural design, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Dynamo for Revit or other scripting tools to automate tasks.
- Knowledge of other BIM software, such as Bentley MicroStation, ArchiCAD, or Tekla.
- Certification in BIM management or Revit.
