Job Title: Production Engineer (Steel Fabrication)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to lead and oversee operations in a steel fabrication facility. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of relevant experience (preferably in the GCC), a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a thorough understanding of fabrication, cutting, welding processes, and lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring all targets (quality, cost, timeline) are met.
- Monitor the fabrication process (cutting, welding, assembly) and implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and motivate production teams, particularly blue-collar workers, maintaining high morale and discipline.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, procurement) to resolve production challenges.
- Quality Assurance & Control
- Ensure final products meet required standards and specifications.
- Conduct routine quality checks on fabricated steel structures, tanks, and pressure vessels (if applicable).
- Technical Oversight
- Read and interpret engineering shop drawings, guiding teams on correct fabrication practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective measures to maintain consistent quality and throughput.
- Continuous Improvement
- Analyze current processes for potential improvements or cost savings.
- Provide regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and resource utilization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
- 8–10 years of experience in steel fabrication (GCC experience preferred).
- Proficient knowledge of cutting, fabrication, and welding.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong personality and excellent management/communication skills.
- Good command of English; MS Office proficiency.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering shop drawings.
- Experience with pressure vessels/tanks is a plus.
- Age range: 30–40 years.
