Job Title
Lead Engineer – Electrical Design
Job Scope
The Lead Engineer – Electrical Design is responsible for designing and planning electrical systems and associated equipment including LV and MV power. S/He designs and configures solutions as per client requirements.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, configure and customize solutions provided to clients as requested and validated by internal and external stakeholders;
- Lead contractors in the design of new products / processes and improve / maintain existing ones;
- Review and modify shop drawings prepared by sub contractors;
- Prepare shop drawings for small projects once needed;
- Verify all electrical calculations (discrimination study, short circuit, lux calculation, etc.);
- Conduct a gap analysis for All technical issues such as ,but no limited to interfaces to other systems and new applications/modules recommending
- enhancement and solving complaints and inquiries.
- Highlight inconsistencies through the implementation of different solutions and act while ensuring the company methodologies are well maintained;
- Conduct upgrades exercises and implementations through best practices and design documentations;
- Conduct User Acceptance Test with the client to ensure the successful delivery of the project tasks;
- Ensure that electrical systems are being installed, tested and commissioned according to current industry and company standards and client requirements;
- Create systems testing and commissioning reports;
- Assist in pre-sales activities including presentations, demos, proposals and scoping;
- Build strong relationships with manufacturers / suppliers.
Position Requirements
- Strong technical skills including knowledge of electrical related software
- Up to date with the latest products/technologies
- Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality
- Good knowledge on international and local codes
- A background in site work is preferred
- Extensive experience in conducting value engineering for electrical designs
- Data center experience is a plus .
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
At least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in Designing the blueprint and reviewing the designs. Must have experience in Generators, UPS, LV Systems, Short Circuit, Voltage drop calculations. MEP Data Centre experience is a plus.
