WSP is hiring a Landscape Engineer responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing outdoor environments to ensure aesthetic, functional, and sustainable landscapes.
Your new role, what’s involved?
- Applies principles of engineering, environmental science, and design to create functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces. Their work blends civil engineering, horticulture, ecology, and urban planning to design landscapes that are both beautiful and environmentally responsible.
- Analysis of the site, including factors like topography, climate, soil type, and existing vegetation. This helps in creating designs that are in harmony with the natural environment and are practical in the long term. Collaborate with the Design Manager to ensure that the contractor’s submittals are compliant with the design intent.
- Landscape maintenance and improvement.
- Operation and Maintenance of irrigation networks and tertiary systems.
- Focus on sustainability, reduce environmental impact, such as by incorporating rainwater harvesting systems, native plants, energy-efficient lighting, and low-maintenance landscapes.
- Familiar with (civil, structural, or environmental) to integrate necessary infrastructure, such as drainage systems, water features, or lighting, into the landscape design.
- Provide periodic reports about the O&M including the landscape and irrigation and compliance reports with standards and project specifications.
- Liaise with project control, quality control and document control teams and provide the necessary updates about the contractor’s productivity related to the landscape and irrigation.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape engineering, Landscape Architecture, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience landscape and irrigation.
- Proficiency in CAD software, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and other design tools.
- Knowledge of horticulture and ecology.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable design practices.
- Familiarity with irrigation design, construction, and installation methods and codes
- Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines
