WSP is hiring a Water Treatment Engineer to ensure the provision of clean water, managing wastewater and sewage disposal, and preventing flood-related damage. Their role encompasses the design, construction, maintenance, and supervision of water and wastewater treatment systems
Your new role, what’s involved?
- Designs, develops, and oversees systems and processes to clean, treat, and manage water for various purposes, such as drinking, irrigation use, and wastewater management. They are involved in ensuring that water is safe and suitable for its intended use, meeting both environmental and health standards.
- Ensure that water treatment processes comply with local, national, and international standards for water quality and environmental safety.
- Monitor the quality of water throughout the treatment process and after distribution. They perform tests to check for contaminants like bacteria, chemicals, and heavy metals.
- Advisor about treating wastewater, ensuring that it is properly cleaned before being returned to the environment or reused.
- Improve the efficiency of water treatment processes, reduce energy consumption, and explore sustainable methods for managing water resources.
- Provide water quality reports and provide reports about water treatment methodologies.
- Provide periodic reports about the water quality tests and compliance reports about water testing.
- Liaise with project control, quality control and document control teams and provide the necessary updates about the contractor’s productivity related to water treatment and water quality
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or further specialization can be an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in water treatment and water quality.
- American Water Works Association (AWWA) is preferrable.
- Familiarity with water quality standards and codes.
- Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines
