We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal/Associate – Roads & Highways Design to join our dynamic design team in Jeddah. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering comprehensive design projects for major roads and highways developments across Saudi Arabia. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership in coordinating multi-disciplinary design efforts.
Your new role, what’s involved?
- Lead and manage the design of roads and highways projects from concept to detailed design stages, ensuring adherence to international and local design standards.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to establish project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to design teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and innovative solutions.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to achieve seamless integration of project components.
- Support business development activities by contributing to proposal writing, project costing, and client presentations.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, standards, and technologies in road and highway design.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
- 14+ years of experience in roads and highways design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven experience working on design projects within the Middle East, ideally in Saudi Arabia.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design software such as Civil 3D, InRoads, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of local Saudi regulations, standards, and practices related to road and highway projects.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Must be fluent in both English and Arabic.
