Role Summary
The BIM Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating all Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for Al Ula Project. This role involves ensuring that all BIM deliverables align with project requirements, including design, construction, and handover stages, while maintaining compliance with international standards and local guidelines. The BIM Coordinator will also facilitate collaboration among all stakeholders and ensure efficient digital workflows to support project success.
Key Responsibilities
- BIM Coordination:
- Develop and implement the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) specific to Al Ula Project.
- Coordinate BIM models across disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP) to identify and resolve clashes.
- Manage and maintain model updates, ensuring accurate and consistent data throughout the project lifecycle.
- Modeling and Review:
- Review models to ensure compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and design intent.
- Conduct regular clash detection and resolve conflicts using software such as Navisworks, Revit, or BIM 360.
- Assist in the creation of 3D, 4D, and 5D models for design visualization, scheduling, and cost estimation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as the main point of contact for BIM-related queries, facilitating coordination between design consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and lead BIM coordination meetings to address project challenges and ensure alignment.
- Train and support project team members on BIM tools and workflows.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure BIM deliverables adhere to international and project-specific standards (e.g., ISO 19650, BS 1192).
- Establish and enforce a robust quality control process for all BIM-related outputs.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain project-specific BIM documentation, including federated models, clash reports, and issue logs.
- Track and report on BIM progress, highlighting any delays or risks to the Project Manager.
- Technology Integration:
- Explore and implement innovative BIM technologies and practices to enhance project efficiency.
- Support the integration of BIM with other project systems, including project management and facility management tools.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in BIM coordination, preferably within high-end hospitality or heritage projects.
- Proven track record of working on projects with complex geometries and sustainability requirements.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in BIM software, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.
- Experience with clash detection and resolution.
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling, 4D scheduling, and 5D cost estimation workflows.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 19650, BS 1192, and COBie.
Core Competencies:
- Strong coordination and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit or Navisworks.
- Certification in BIM Management (e.g., RICS, BRE Academy, or similar).
