Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Audiovisual (AV) Pre-Sales and Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in AV systems, CCTV, Access Control, and Public Address systems, with expertise in designing tailored solutions that meet client requirements. This role involves close collaboration with the sales, design, and tender teams to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality AV solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to assess client requirements, evaluate technical conditions, and identify potential challenges for AV system implementations.
- Study and analyze Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to understand project specifications, scope, and requirements.
- Design comprehensive AV solutions, including but not limited to:
- Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems
- Access Control systems
- Public Address systems
- Projection mapping including edge-blending and warping
- Other audiovisual components as required by projects.
- Develop single-line drawings showing AV signal flow, control scheme and power distribution.
- Prepare detailed and accurate BoQs to support project proposals and budgeting processes.
- Obtain quotations from vendors, distributors, and manufacturers to support the BoQ and assist the procurement team with purchasing.
- Collaborate with draftsmen to create precise technical drawings, layouts, and system schematics.
- Work closely with the design, tender and project teams to ensure project deliverables align with client expectations and technical feasibility.
- Provide the projects and technician teams with a detailed briefing on the design intent to ensure a seamless transfer of project information.
- Oversee and actively take part in system commissioning and testing process/project completion and handover.
- Stay well-versed in all aspects of AV technologies, products, and industry trends to ensure the delivery of innovative and up-to-date solutions.
- Compile and submit operation and maintenance manuals to facilitate project completion and handover.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, IT, or a related field.
- Relevant AV certifications would be an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in AV system design and pre-sales.
- Proven expertise in designing CCTV, Access Control, and Public Address systems.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in AV design principles, system integration, and associated technologies.
- Familiarity with design tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and compliance regulations.
- Configuration, operation and integration of matrix switchers, DSPs, projection systems, video conference codecs, professional displays, video walls & processors, audio amplifiers, wired and wireless microphones, preamplifiers, mixers, professional PTZ cameras and control systems.
- Troubleshooting and debugging complex audiovisual systems to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
- Proficiency in working with products from leading AV equipment manufacturers such as Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Bose, JBL, Epson, Crown, and others.
- Experience with projection mapping and media servers is considered an asset.
