Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer specialising in structural engineering and construction supervision to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing structural aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with local regulations.
- Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to structural designs, specifications, and quality standards
- Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and construction methodologies
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential structural issues
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical challenges
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Prepare detailed technical reports, including structural assessments and recommendations
- Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians in structural engineering practices
- Participate in project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
- Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the construction process
- Analyse and resolve complex structural engineering problems on-site
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) licence or equivalent qualification
- Relevant structural engineering certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer) are highly desirable
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in structural engineering and construction supervision
- Proven experience with large-scale construction projects
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar structural design software
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations, particularly those applicable in Saudi Arabia
- Excellent project management skills and familiarity with project management tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated expertise in structural design and analysis
- Thorough understanding of construction methodologies and best practices
- Strong knowledge of quality control and assurance in construction
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in construction sites
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to work on-site and travel as required
