- Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, including divers, marine biologists, contractors, and support staff, both on-site and remotely.
Field Operations & Diving Leadership
- Serve as the field lead for daily operations, supervising on-site teams during coral collection, relocation, and monitoring activities.
- Oversee diving operations, ensuring safety protocols, proper equipment usage, and adherence to industry standards.
- Actively participate in underwater tasks as needed, including coral handling, securing corals to substrates, and site inspections.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, environmental compliance audits, and safety assessments.
- Present updates and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Safety & Risk Management
- Develop and enforce safety plans for all field operations, including diving and boat activities.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure the safety of personnel and marine life.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and emergency response drills with the project team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing marine projects, especially coral relocation or similar ecological restoration activities.
- Diving certifications (e.g., PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, or equivalent) and experience in leading diving operations.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and marine habitat restoration techniques.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage both field teams and administrative tasks.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work long hours on boats and in remote marine environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with underwater construction, habitat installation, or other marine infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with GIS, photogrammetry, or other monitoring technologies for marine environments.
- Previous experience working in collaboration with local regulatory bodies or community stakeholders.
