Overall Job Objective:
Lead and direct all value engineering activities to enhance project performance, reduce costs, and maintain essential quality and functionality. This role focuses on applying value engineering principles to maximize efficiency in design and execution, minimizing waste, and achieving the best return on investment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop Value Engineering Strategies:
• Establish policies and procedures for value engineering within the organization.
• Lead value engineering studies to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction without compromising performance.
2. Analyze and Design Alternative Solutions:
• Assess engineering and operational alternatives to ensure maximum efficiency at minimal cost.
• Provide technical recommendations for design improvements, material use, and execution methods.
• Ensure the implementation of value-added solutions to enhance project sustainability.
3. Cost Management and Analysis:
• Review financial estimates, feasibility studies, and cost analysis related to projects.
• Assist in reviewing financial proposals and tenders to ensure the selection of the most cost-efficient alternatives.
4. Coordination and Collaboration:
• Work closely with engineering teams and project managers to ensure the effective implementation of value engineering principles.
• Provide technical guidance and advisory support to contractors and consultants on value improvement strategies.
• Communicate with stakeholders and investors to present the benefits of value engineering and its impact on projects.
5. Enhancing Quality and Performance:
• Apply best practices in value engineering to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Offer innovative solutions to reduce risks and improve project economic feasibility.
6. Reporting and Monitoring:
• Prepare value engineering reports and deliver presentations to senior management.
• Monitor the implementation of value engineering recommendations and measure their impact on project financial and technical performance.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A professional certification in Value Engineering (SAVE International) is a plus.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in value engineering, cost analysis, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of cost analysis techniques, quality control, and feasibility studies.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to provide creative solutions.
• Proficiency in financial and engineering analysis tools.
• High communication and negotiation skills with various project stakeholders.
