Employment: Full Time
General Overview:
The Civil Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, executing, and managing civil engineering projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, infrastructure, and sewage systems. Additionally, the role includes business development by securing new projects, with specific expertise in dealing with construction companies in Saudi Arabia and third-party companies for heavy equipment rental.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Design and Planning:
o Prepare engineering drawings and plans using design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
o Perform engineering calculations to analyze loads and stresses to ensure structural safety.
o Develop project plans, cost estimates, and schedules.
2. Project Management:
o Supervise various phases of project execution.
o Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to schedules and specifications.
o Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
3. Construction Company Coordination:
o Manage relationships with construction companies and third-party suppliers for heavy equipment rental.
o Negotiate contracts, pricing, and schedules with suppliers and contractors.
o Evaluate bids and select the best options based on quality and cost.
4. Analysis and Testing:
o Assess construction materials to ensure quality and suitability.
o Oversee soil, concrete, and other material testing used in the project.
o Resolve engineering issues that may arise during project execution.
5. Business Development and Project Acquisition:
o Build relationships with clients, contractors, and consultancy firms.
o Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to secure new projects.
o Monitor tenders and identify new business opportunities in the Saudi market.
6. Quality Assurance and Safety:
o Ensure work is executed following safety and quality standards.
o Provide regular progress reports and address any technical or organizational challenges.
7. Documentation and Communication:
o Prepare project reports, technical presentations, and related documentation.
o Communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience:
o 3–7 years of experience in civil engineering and project management.
o Proven experience working with construction companies in Saudi Arabia and third-party heavy equipment rental firms.
• Technical Skills:
o Comprehensive knowledge of local and international building standards, especially those applicable to the Saudi market.
o Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, and Revit.
• Personal Skills:
o Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
o Strong relationship-building abilities with clients and suppliers.
o Proficient in preparing and delivering presentations and reports.
o Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
• Work involves office-based engineering tasks as well as on-site supervision of construction projects.
• Frequent travel between project sites and offices to coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
• Flexibility in working hours to meet project deadlines and requirements.
